Domestic Violence A Rising case

Cases of domestic violence these days are rising as men beat up their wives like snakes .Most women found at the police station in the morning come reporting cases domestic violence.

Though some men call it old fashioned to beat a woman, others see it as proving manhood in a home.

Our discussion with some people conclude  thinking that it’s because of poverty, alcohol and other drugs that some men beat and fight their wives.

This is mostly done at night when they go back home from work and even when a wife asks for money.

Mulwadde (Radio West presenter) said that some women take it to be okay for a man to beat her believing it’s a sign of love.

As a Muganda says ’Abagalana tosaayo kikyo’ simply meaning that don’t involve yourself in lovers affairs. Different people had a say about this;

Some said when they hear or find a couple fighting they will just let them finish their issues alone in their own way.

Whereas others said that they will never sit and watch someone’s daughter being beaten up in that case they disagreed with a Muganda saying.

Heather also said there are families where women are heads, whereby instead of women cooking you find a man suffering in the kitchen. Such kind of women beat up the husbands in case of any mistake.
